Facts:
Double-fatality, multi-vehicle accident, wherein our client, a transportation company, broadsided the Plaintiff vehicle in the carpool lane on the southbound 5 Freeway near Imperial Highway, Santa Fe Springs, California. 10 Plaintiffs, including 8 siblings, a surviving spouse and brother/witness with a negligent infliction of emotional distress cause of action. Key experts included Anthony Stein, Ph.D. (human factors), John Landerville (accident reconstruction) and Constantine Boukidis (economics). The only other co-defendant was dismissed by Plaintiffs on the first day of trial.
Result:
Defense verdict (10-2). In third week of trial, jury deliberated for 1 hour 15 minutes before finding for the Defense.
