Co-chairs the firm's insurance coverage practice and has notable experience in drafting insurance policies and specialized forms, analysis of coverage issues in a wide range of personal and commercial lines matters, and has over twenty-five years of experience in litigating coverage and unfair claims practices cases on both the trial and appellate levels. Has tried over fifty coverage and unfair claims practices trials, as well as a number of personal injury trials, and is counsel of record in seventeen published appellate opinions. Played a prominent role in the defense of the clergy sex abuse cases in Southern California and has developed an expertise in the investigation and defense of such cases. Recent cases include successful litigation of coverage issues in the product recall, E&O, professional liability, commercial liability and homeowners insurance arenas.
